History

Our family has been raising sheep since moving to our farm in Scio, Oregon in 2001.

We initially started with a Crossbred sheep flock.  Building up our flock over the years so that our children could have market lambs to show in 4-H and FFA, as well as selling market lambs to other local 4-H and FFA members for their fair projects.

Riana and Logan bought their first Texel sheep in 2013 as a 4-H project animals.  They wanted a new and different breed to bring to our local county fair and after a lot of research, Riana fell in love with the Texel breed and convinced her brother to purchase one as well.   While Logan has moved on from the sheep breeding program after graduating from high school, Riana has continuted to build up her flock of Texels.  She has shown her sheep at various local and county fairs, as well as the Oregon State Fair, where she has been the "Premier Exhibitor" in her division for the past 3 years.

The Texel flock is now a family enterprise as we have acquired a few as well.  Currently our Texel breeding flock consists of 15 ewes.

Thank you for visiting,

Rick, Cathy, & Riana Martin
